Please e-mail us at [email protected].

Will my local affiliate pick up my donation?

Dress for Success is a volunteer-run organization, and our location (like most affiliates) simply does not have the necessary resources or staff to provide this service. We have partnered with Conexus Credit Union so that clothing donations can be accepted at a wide range of times. If there are extreme or extenuating circumstances, please contact us directly to see if other arrangements can be made.

Did you know that DFSS styling appointments are facilitated by volunteers?

Every year DFSS provides interview and employment styling appointments to clients. These appointments are led by volunteers who are focused on giving back to women in our community.

Did you know that the clothing, accessories, outerwear, hygiene supplies, etc are all collected through donations from our community?

All of the items that are available to our clients are received through the generous donations of our community. Sometimes we may be short on certain items, have a lack of size options or not have something you were hoping for. We do our best to ensure a wide variety but it is important to note that we don’t purchase items for clients to choose from.

Did you know that DFSS only has 1.5 employees?

DFSS is run primarily by a volunteer board of directors. They employ a part time administrative assistant and an executive director.

Did you know that DFSS donates clothing items that they cannot use to other nonprofit organizations in the community?

Sometimes we receive clothing items that are not suitable for employment but are still in great condition. We partner with several other community organizations that can ensure that these items are put to good use.

Did you know that in 2024 DFSS volunteers logged over 2000 hours?

We might be biased, but we have the best volunteers! Last year they contributed over 2000 hours of their time to helping our community.

Did you know that DFSS has been in Saskatoon since 2012?

Dress for Success Saskatoon was launched in October 2012 by Fay Gabrielson and Cathy Mills. These co-founders saw the need for DFS services to help disadvantaged women in the community move toward economic self-sufficiency. Fay remains with the organization today.

Did you know that we have volunteers who manage all of our clothing donations?

We have teams of volunteers who come in weekly to process all of our clothing donations. This includes sorting, culling, bagging, organizing, etc. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide styling appointments to our clients.

Did you know that DFSS offers more than just clothing?

DFSS offers educational programming throughout the year. This includes our Women Empowering Women (WEW) program which runs twice a year. Cohorts of women meet weekly and have the opportunity to learn essential skills from experienced professionals in the related field.

Did you know that you can self-refer to our programs?

DFSS accepts referrals from our community partners but also recognizes that not everyone is connected in that way. We accept self-referrals for styling appointments and programs as well. Please visit our website or give us a call for more information.

Did you know that DFSS relies on donations, grants and fundraising for all of its expenses?

DFSS is not a fully government funded organization. We rely on the contributions of our community both locally and nationally to be able to continue our operations.

Did you know that you can donate gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, handbags, wallets, etc with our community partner, Conexus Credit Union?

DFSS is primarily a volunteer organization. Thus we have partnered with the Conexus Credit Union on 8th street and on Circle Drive. They graciously accept donations on our behalf and we then have them transported to our location when we have volunteers to process them.

Did you know that you or your company can donate to DFSS monthly?

Poverty often affects women the most, and its effects on them and their families can be long-lasting.
