I have four children, I’m a single mom and I’m raising my nephew as well. I am full time student, an entrepreneur, work part-time and volunteer as much as I can. When I started selling my hand-crafted jewellery, bead work and traditional dance regalia, I decided I needed to map out a business plan. I was given the opportunity to discuss my business plan with Square One. When it came time to meet with Square One for the interview, I was nervous, not feeling like I was not dressed properly. And I knew that after I got my business plan together I would need to look for start-up funding. I also had a job interview too because I was looking for a part-time job outside of my school day.

This is where Dress for Success stepped into my life. I was given the opportunity to use the services that Dress for Success has to offer. For a woman like myself, who would rather spend my last little bit of money on my children rather than myself, this was a like a miracle. When I went to Dress for Success, they did such a wonderful job of making me feel so welcomed. They greeted me, right at the door and comforted me. I felt so comfortable there and the way they built my confidence is indescribable. The ladies from Dress for Success went above beyond and made me feel like that the bank was going to say yes to my business proposal.
